Our 8mm helical bar is the ultimate solution for repairing and reinforcing cracked masonry, brickwork and concrete. When to use 8mm helical bar

Typically 8mm wire is used where cracking is more excessive, and where mortar bed joints are actually wide enough to accommodate the increased diameter bar. Note, it is much more difficult to get 8mm wire into the standard bed width of 10mm (because of variable factors such as brick styles, rubble, etc). 

Benefits of 8mm helical bar

• Stiffer in bending than 4mm or 6mm helical wire (resulting in more bending resistance in the completed repair) 
• 30% more tensile and shear strength than 6mm bars.
