Our 8mm helical bar is a heavy-duty solution for repairing and reinforcing cracked masonry, brickwork and concrete. When to use 8mm helical bar

Typically, 8mm wire is used where cracking is more excessive and where mortar bed joints are wide enough to accommodate the increased diameter bar. It can be more difficult to install into a standard 10mm bed joint because of variables such as brick type, rubble infill and joint condition.

Benefits of 8mm helical bar

• Stiffer in bending than 4mm or 6mm helical wire, resulting in greater bending resistance in the completed repair
• 30% more tensile and shear strength than 6mm bars

• We recommend the use of Strucsol E.A.S.F resin when immediate full bond strength is required.
