Strucsol Crack Repair Kit for Cracked Brickwork (5M)

The Strucsol Ultrabar Composite Crack Stitch Repair Kit contains high-strength composite crack stitching bars, rapid-set polyester resin and a heavy duty applicator gun for repairing cracked brickwork and masonry walls. Designed to reconnect and reinforce cracked walls, this Strucsol crack repair kit supplies the materials for approximately 5 metres of vertical, horizontal or stepped cracking, depending on the thickness of the bed joint.

Developed after years of research and development, Ultrabar Composite is our strongest performing crack stitching bar ever. It offers an alternative to stainless steel crack stitching helical bars, combining improved strength with 100% corrosion resistance for permanent structural repair work.

Crack Stitching Bar Strength and Corrosion Resistance

Compared with stainless steel helical bar, Strucsol Ultrabar Composite offers:

• 5 times more tensile strength
• 100% corrosion resistance
• 4 times stronger shear strength
• 60% less carbon generation during manufacture than stainless steel helical wire

Despite its appearance, Ultrabar Composite is not made from plastic.

At JT Consulting, we developed Ultrabar Composite using more sustainably available materials to significantly reduce environmental impact, without sacrificing performance or strength. The result is a major improvement in strength compared with stainless steel helical bars.

Important: Stitching Around Corners

Due to its strength, Ultrabar Composite is not suitable for bending around corners. For crack stitching around a corner, use our 6mm stainless steel helical crack stitching bars. If you would like to use composite bars elsewhere in the repair, a mixture of composite and steel can be supplied. Get in touch so we can arrange the right combination.

Heavy Duty Crack Stitch Repair Kit Contents (5M)

The Strucsol Ultrabar Composite Crack Stitch Repair Kit (5M) contains the following materials for approximately 5 metres of vertical or stepped crack repairs:

• 5 x Ultrabar Composite 6mm crack stitching bars, each 6mm x 1000mm
• 3 x 400ml cartridges of StrucSol Polyester rapid-set resin with nozzles, providing 25% more resin than standard 300ml cartridges
• 1 x heavy duty resin applicator gun

Crack Stitching Repairs and Technical Support

Crack stitching uses bars bonded across cracks in prepared bed joints to reconnect and reinforce the affected masonry. For a full explanation of the repair process, read our comprehensive guide to completing crack stitch repairs.

Why Use 400ml Resin Cartridges Instead of 300ml?

Standard 300ml guns are often designed for thinner materials, such as decorators' caulk, and can struggle to push thicker resin through the nozzle. This can make applying resin to the repair area hard work.

The supplied heavy duty gun is paired with the 400ml cartridges to make resin application easier. Clean the gun after use so it is ready for many more jobs.

In cold weather, warm the resin in a bucket of hot water for 15 minutes before use to make it easier to pump from the cartridge into the application area.
