A variable crack stitching kit with different quantities of helical bar and resin available

A handy crack stitch repair kit that comes with different variations of bar with the correct ratio of resin already assigned- based on a standard bed depth. High quality applicator can be added optionally too, bearing in mind that standard mastic caulking/silicone guns are not suitable for pumping resin as they are not strong enough to cope with the pressure. 

Contents of this kit

Based on your chosen quantities, you will get 6mm x 1m helical bar, 300ml Polyester Resin, with or without a heavy duty 300ml applicator gun based on your choice. 

300ml Polyester Resin

Our 300ml resin is styrene free- this means it has NO noxious smell and a higher bond strength, making it ideally suited for indoor use- whilst still maintaining a reasonable price. Our helical bar (Strucsol Ultrabar) is UK manufactured, hand tested and quality checked so you can guarantee you're getting the best product.

Please note, using a standard mastic gun for these resins is risky as they are not designed to cope with the pressures needed to push our resin (they're meant for sealants and caulking only!)- so unless you have a heavier duty sealant gun, we can supply one that will do the job for you.

How Our Crack Stitching Kit Works

Prepare the Crack

Rake out the mortar joint to allow for 500mm spacing either side of the crack for the bar to slot into. Make sure to remove as much dust from the slot as possible using either an industrial vacuum or one of our manual dust blower pumps. If possible, dampen the slot with water, as this helps the resin bind to the surroundings better.

Install Helical Bars

Apply a bead of the resin (make sure to discard the first 10ml of the tube, as this won't be fully mixed) along the full width of the back of the slot, and insert the stainless steel crack stitching bars into this resin using one of our pointing trowels, followed by another bead of resin over the top of the bar.

Finish & Inspect

Smooth the resin over with the pointing tool, allow 10 minutes for the resin to set, and you can now begin preparing to repoint mortar over the top of the resin.
