Designed to drive into end grain timber, side grain timber and to all forms of masonry to provide reliable lateral restraint for bowed walls and structures
The tie can be installed from the outside of the wall into the end grain of the timber, or through the side grain of an end bearing joist into the surrounding masonry.
Ties are installed through pilot hole in brickwork or side grain wood, and directly driven into end grain wood.
Pilot hole diameters are typically between 5 and 6.5mm diameter dependent on density of the brick and wood.
70mm embedment into ingrain timber will achieve 1.0 to 2.0 kN tensile proof load in the wood and 2.5 to 3.5kN tensile proof load in the masonry
The installed tie locks the masonry and timber together preventing further lateral movement
